Applifier launches video ad network to monetize Facebook games

Applifier originally made its name as a “rebel alliance” of smaller Facebook developers when it used a banner ad to cross-promote the games of developers who made high-quality apps. It created an alternative to spending a lot of money on Facebook ads. 

Now the company is launching Impact, a video advertising network designed to help developers acquire high-quality social game players and increase their games’ revenues. It does so by embedding ads within social games. Facebook recently released two white papers, dubbed “Social Media Blueprints,” that are designed to help businesses market their brands using social media channels. The blueprints were released on the heels of new data, commissioned by Facebook and performed by Forrester Consulting, revealing that :

  • 71 percent of marketing leaders believe companies can gain a competitive advantage through social media
  • Only 33 percent have a long-term plan for becoming a social business
  • 75 percent of the market leaders surveyed agree that social media channels, such as Facebook, are critical for brand building and customer loyalty
